You need a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent, and there is no experience required. However, some computer skills would be advantageous, as well as good organization skills and the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing. Knowledge of the job, interpersonal relations and flexibility and team work.
This position requires excellent registry skills, the ability to capture data and operate computers. A good understanding of the legislative framework governing the public service is also necessary, as well as knowledge of how to store and retrieve information in a work setting.
The main duties of this position include providing registry counter services, attending to clients, handling telephonic and other enquiries received, receiving and registering hand delivered mail and files, and handle incoming and outgoing correspondence. Other responsibilities include sorting, registering and dispatching mail as well as distributing notices
We provide an efficient filing and record management service, opening and closing files in accordance with a record classification system. We store documents and files, trace them electronically or manually, and retrieve them when needed. We also keep index cards for all files and operate office machines related to registry functions. Post responsibilities include collecting and sorting mail, making sure no private mail is included, and then putting it in a bag for the messenger to take to the post office. Maintain a remittance register of all valuable articles.
The student will be required to come up with original copies of documents typescripts, slogans and catchphrase in both Kiswahilli and English The student will also take on assignments to either simplified or explain mathematical or statistical concepts using appropriate language. Personal Development: The students will be giving guidance, instructions and other oral or written reports; dealing with difficult people or situations using effective support where appropriate.
