Traffic Officer: City of Cape Town is currently seeking individuals for the position of Constable/Traffic Officer. This role falls under the Directorate of Safety and Security and is located in the City of Cape Town. The salary for this position ranges from R220 458 to R 284. To be considered for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Possess a Grade 12 certificate
- Have a valid Code B driver’s license and proficient driving skills
- Hold a Motor Cycle License or be willing to obtain one within 18 months of appointment
- Be registered as a Traffic Officer with possession of a National Department of Transport Basic Traffic Officer Qualification (RTMC)
- Meet all requirements for appointment as a Municipal Police member per Regulation 11 of the Regulations for Municipal Police Services
- Have computer literacy skills
- Hold a First Aid Course certification
- Have a minimum of one year relevant experience
- Have a clean criminal record
- Be physically fit and able to maintain fitness levels

- Enforcement of Traffic Regulations and By-Laws
- Reduction of traffic congestion
- Crime prevention through enforcement of relevant legislation
- Execution of specialized functions assigned to Metro Police/Traffic Services units to ensure effective response to service demands
- Liaison with the Public and Key Stakeholders to uphold effective stakeholder relations
- Ensuring accurate completion of all administrative sequences related to statutory documentation, registers, and statistics
- Conducting training for existing staff and potential recruits at designated facilities
- Management of technology usage within the department
