ARTISAN ASSISTANTS – MUNICIPALITY IS LOOKING FOR BEST ARTISAN ASSISTANTS WITH GRADE 10

The eThekwini Municipality is seeking Artisan Assistants to join their team. The job is a permanent, full-time position that falls under the Trading Services Vacancy Group.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing manual assistance to the Artisan within the Plant and Engineering Department. The job grade is T05, and the Artisan Assistant will report to the Superintendent (Workshop).

• The salary for the position ranges from R146,214.17 to R189,803.35 per annum.

The successful candidate will also receive a 13th cheque. The Artisan Assistant is required to maintain cleanliness in the workshop, provide support to the Artisan during the execution of technical functions, and undertake vehicle maintenance services associated with the replacement of tyres and batteries.

The ideal candidate for the Artisan Assistants position must have a Grade 10 or N3 qualification, with a preference for a Trade Tested Certificate. The candidate should also have at least one year of relevant experience.

The Artisan Assistants should possess key competencies such as managing work, problem-solving, quality orientation, discipline-specific skills, interpersonal relationships, communication, action orientation, accountability and ethical conduct, learning orientation, and team orientation.

The successful candidate will be entitled to a housing subsidy, leave, medical aid, and a pension fund.
